They do not get Cloud Walker, which also cuts off those related feats and upgrades.

They also do not have a bipedal speed, meaning they can't go bipedal.

It's minor, but they also aren't linguists like ponies, limiting their initial language picks.

Do you mean they can't have dashing flyer? Rule book only requires Flight speed and Ponkykind at the moment.

That's all fair, but I feel that most of it falls under your guys territory of not wanting to give disadvantages that can't easily be gotten around. I guess my biggest issue is that they seem to outclass all other flyer's by a large amount and have a feat that benefits that even more to the point of, why wouldn't you build a Flutterpony that way. I don't feel as if there's real incentive to try anything else with them.

No no, the weather control feats that pegasi and griffons can get into, being cloud walkers. They can shove clouds and mist effects around, dispel them, start slinging lightning around, and other such nonsense.

They also don't get to sun bathe on clouds. Rainbow pony would weep in pity(or is that laugh mockingly, we're not sure).

 <-- That, she'd definitely do that. Yeah, they also get cut off from the ever useful Day Wing ability.... in a remarkable sense of irony. Did you guys do that on purpose? :troll:

So they get cut off from affecting weather at all, so early games they're super useful and will always have Stupid levels of defense, but they aren't nearly as fun flavor wise and are cut off from a lot of things. I guess that's a valid of enough sense.

While we're on the topic of Flying, (and fire bombs from another post). What are the rules concerning just dropping an item and where it will hit?

Ranged touch attack. Dropping and throwing being synonymous, system wise.

How has playtesting gone with the Griffons side of things, when all the choices available have fly and they start out as Poor Flyers? Does the flying aspect become that much greater of an attribute that is important to the game? Or does flying just be brushed to the side and only used as a side benefit?

Flying is a major game changer, especially on the GM side of the screen. Many classical obstacles are just rendered null when players can fly. In combat, if you can stay out of reach, you can't be harmed by many monsters.
