Fey immune to charm and dominate person?

Postby Dragonflame » Wed Feb 26, 2014 12:02 pm

Page 47 says this:
TYPE ADVANTAGE NEUTRALIZATION
There are a lot of spells that assume most PCs are
humanoids. It is something of an advantage to be
immune to things such as charm or dominate person.
A GM concerned about this may enact the following,
with its ups and downs

Where did you find that Fey are immune to those? I can't seem to find that information anywhere else. What else are Fey immune to?

Fey are immune to many magics because they are not humanoids. Tieflings and Aasimar have the same thing going. It is not an explicit part of being fey, but an explicit part of charm PERSON being target HUMANOID.

That's why for my campaign, I'm houserulling a few tweeks to those things. Any spell with a target designation of 'humanoid' basically has two version. One cast by ponies/other ponyfinder races. And one cast by everyone else. The only difference being the target. Ponies can cast those spells on each other, but not humanoids, humanoids can cast them on each other but not ponies.

But again, that's only personal houserules.

Another quick fix would be to make them target things of the same type as the caster. Then fey would affect fey and humanoids would affect humanoids, and if they want to cross that barrier they have to use the higher level mojo(dominate/charm monster)

That exactly what mine was, though worded a lot better. Well, hmmm able to affect other fey too, that, hmm didn't think about that.
