So, does anyone want to run a Ponyfinder game on here?

Postby Dusk Raven » Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:36 pm

I don't really have a group to play with, so the only outlet I have is online. Anyone want to help playtest the rules via an online game?

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. My initial prospective group members are either too busy or have issues with running this content in the confines of a regular Pathfinder campaign. (Even though it seems to me helping test how well this all meshes with preexisting content is the entire point of a playtest.)

I'd be interested in playing in a group as well. I've never actually had a chance to play Pathfinder.

Do you mean as in play by post or do you mean more directly by an online service?

Would be interested in it maybe. Depending on how it was set up. Really want to try these rules out in a ful game, but the group I'm in wants to wait till we finish the session we are in.

Whatever works best. I was thinking play by post, but combat would obviously have to be resolved with the aid of some online program like MapTools. Which I don't know how to use.

There's also the matter of who would DM. I can DM, but that doesn't mean I should, as my skill is, as of this time, mostly limited to running modules.

I heartily recommend roll20.net. It's free, user friendly, and fairly awesome.

Running a module or two is really not a bad idea, as a side note.

I second this. My group uses roll20.net as well, and it has worked out well for us.

Also, I would be interested in joining in. However, despite my interest in Pathfinder and Ponyfinder, I have yet to play a game of one. I think it would be a great way of being truely introduced to Pathfinder; with this lovely campaign setting David and Co. has brought us.

I'll also back for using roll20.net, since I made an account there a couple of days ago. Not actually used it yet, just signed up.

Roll20... wasn't that what we used for the running test that sent a dopple bard on an express trip to Kara?
*checks*
Yes, yes it was.
It works well in my opinion; lots of space for players to make little macros to roll attacks, saves, skill checks, and so on, as and if they need it.

I can totally be a warm body on the player side of the screen, it is where I prefer to be, and there's nothing wrong with running modules to get ones' feet wet; it lets a DM handle more of the player interaction and worry less about the framework of the adventure they're running the party into.
